Who was Carraway?

Nick Carraway in ´The Great Gatsby´.

One of my all-time favourite books is F. Scott Fitzgerald’s 1925 classic novel, “The Great Gatsby”.

Nick Carraway is the first-person narrator of that epic story. He is an observer of the events that unfold around him. He tells the events of the novel from his perspective, offering the reader insight into the lives and actions of the other characters. As the narrator, Nick serves as a window through which readers observe the world of the novel.

Nick is a perceptive and observant character. He is not only an active participant in the events of the story but also a confidant to many of the other characters. People often confide in him and trust him, which allows him to offer a nuanced view of the story's events.

This all makes him an essential character through whom the novel's themes and storylines are explored and presented to the reader.
